Cherisse is an award-winning Trinidadian-Canadian Creative Lead, working across Art Direction, Photography and Film. Since graduating from OCAD University (B.Des 2007), she has provided concept development and design services to advertising and creative agencies in Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Rome and NYC. Her clients have included The PGA Tour, Prudential Financial, Virgin Media, and The Globe & Mail to name a few. During the course of her career, she has delved into specific areas of interest through studies in Web Development (2009) and Film (2019) at Ryerson University, leading to specializations in User Experience and Directing respectively. I'm a Trinidad-born Canadian creative who has always found excitement in exploring different visual disciplines and bringing ideas to life. Since graduating from OCAD University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Design in Advertising, I've worked as a hands-on Art Director at creative agencies in Toronto, London, UK, Amsterdam, Rome and NYC. I help brands engage audiences through visual and conceptual contributions. I've overseen creative campaigns, mentored passionate creatives, learned from leaders in the field, and have helped brands of all kinds and sizes evolve their businesses to speak to the audiences they'd like to reach.
In 2009, in order to create better experiences for devices and delve deeper into how digital design is evolving, I studied Web Development at Ryerson University, and moved into a specialty in UI/UX Design. I applied this to my work at agencies such as Proximity Canada and London, Publicis, Wunderman, LBi and Miomni, as well as for clients such as Prudential Financial, Virgin Media, PGA Tour, Nestle, and now, TD Bank Canada. In 2019, I returned to Ryerson to obtain a Certificate in Film Studies, and have since added directing to my arsenal of creative offerings. After working outside of my hometown, Toronto, for 8 of my 14 years in the advertising industry, I repatriated in 2019. When I'm not creating for TD's businesses, I enjoy writing, shooting photos, discovering cities by bike, practicing movement, and conversing with new friends.
